Cinnamon Sugar Pecans

Every year when Christmas rolls around, my kids start asking when I am going to make "Suga Nuts!"

These are a Christmas tradition to make as neighbor gifts.  They are really easy to make and they make the house smell like Christmas.  It's really as easy as putting a few ingredients in a bag, blast your favorite song, (these yummies were shaken to "Last Christmas" by Wham) and then bake for about an hour.  I usually double the recipe.  One for me, and one for neighbors!

Cinnamon Sugared Pecans
Ingredients
  • 3 Cups of Pecan Halves
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, whisk egg white with water and vanilla until very frothy. In a separate small mixing bowl, whisk together sugar, cinnamon and salt.  Add pecans to large ziplock back, then add egg white mixture and toss until evenly coated. Pour half of the sugar mixture over pecans and toss several times then add remaining sugar mixture and toss until evenly coated. Pour coated pecans over a parchment paper lined baking sheet and spread into an even layer. Bake in preheated oven 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Allow to cool then store in an airtight container. Enjoy!
