Relax – Chill Out = Chillaaaax!
Relaxation is important for your mental and physical health
and wellbeing.
Let’s face it, we live crazy busy lives. So of course stress is a part of our everyday
lives. We need to learn how to relax and
make an effort to practice relaxation in some form daily. We need to learn to chill out and enjoy
ourselves. Relaxation can be a great
coping strategy to help deal with stress and anxiety.
According to an article by the
Mayo Clinic Practicing relaxation techniques can reduce stress symptoms by:
•Slowing your heart rate
•Lowering blood pressure
•Slowing your breathing rate
•Reducing activity of stress
hormones
•Increasing blood flow to major
muscles
•Reducing muscle tension and
chronic pain
•Improving concentration and
mood
•Lowering fatigue
•Reducing anger and frustration
•Boosting confidence to handle
problems
Other benefits of relaxation are, lowers risk of; depression and anxiety, hypertension, heart related problems, and can help boost our immunity.
To get the most benefit from relaxation techniques also try
adding things like; positive thinking, humor, time management, getting enough
sleep, staying well hydrated, eating to fuel your body, find a positive vibe by
hanging with your tribe.
